United States Medical Licensing Exam Preparation for International Medical Graduates

The United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) is a three-step examination for medical licensure in the United States. Passing all tests of USMLE is required for any doctor to obtain a license to practice medicine in the United States.

International Medical Graduates must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). To become certified by ECFMG, an International Medical Graduate must pass USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK (Clinical Knowledge) and Step 2 CS (Clinical Skills). Doctors can take these exams in any order. Once a doctor receives ECFMG certification, he/she may apply for a hospital residency. Step 3 is always taken last in the series of medical licensing exams because International Medical Graduates must be ECFMG Certified to be eligible to take Step 3.

Graduates can either continue their training in the US after completion of their studies or return to their home country with the specialty certification from the US.

Approximate cost of preparation for all USMLE Exam Programs: $ 15.000
English level: IELTS 5.0; TOEFL 530 PBT or 71 iBT
